McCain’s lack of tech prowess is well documented.

And the idea of having a president who doesn’t know how to use a computer let alone understand the potential of social media/technologies is frightening.

In light of what’s unfolding about Sarah Palin and how little she was vetted, part of me has to believe that McCain’s hubris in picking her on the fly is connected to his disconnection from the social Web.

How could he possibly think it was okay to just go with a VP choice who was barely looked into?

Did he not understand what bloggers do and how they work? Does he not get that everyone leaves a paper and video trail?

If he does understand how bloggers do their job, did he just assume that everything would be okay?

All possible scenarios suggest not just hubris, but tremendous naivete.
